Orange Egypt Signs Strategic Partnership with Wadi Degla Developments to Deliver Smart Solutions at NEO – Mostakbal City Including Triple Play Services and Fiber-Optic Connectivity

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure across new urban communities, Orange Egypt and Wadi Degla Developments have signed a strategic partnership to establish smart digital ecosystem within NEO, the company’s development in Mostakbal City, New Cairo.

The partnership encompasses the development of telecommunications services and smart infrastructure solutions, alongside the deployment of a range of Orange Business solutions tailored to the project's needs. The collaboration aims to enhance the investment value of NEO by transforming it into a fully smart community while improving residents’ everyday quality of life through innovative digital applications and services.

The partnership further reinforces Orange Egypt’s position as a strategic technology partner in the development of real estate projects and smart cities, providing advanced digital infrastructure technologies, including 5G networks, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, data centers, and smart and advanced telecommunications systems.

Under the partnership, Orange Egypt will provide NEO with a comprehensive portfolio of advanced telecommunications and digital entertainment services, led by Triple Play services, which combine internet, fixed-line telephony, and television services.

Orange Egypt will also deploy and operate an advanced Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network covering all units across the project, delivering high-speed connectivity and supporting the growing adoption of digital services and applications. In addition, Orange Egypt will implement the infrastructure required to support telecommunications services and establish GSM sites across various locations within the project.

The smart ecosystem will also feature a dedicated IPTV platform offering a wide range of premium entertainment content and digital experiences. This will enable residents to access comprehensive entertainment services through a unified digital infrastructure, with the flexibility to expand the platform in the future by adding more digital content services and OTT platforms.

The Orange Business solutions featured in the partnership reflect a strategic focus on developing a smart operational infrastructure that supports efficient facilities management and enhances operational performance through intelligent systems. These solutions include Wi-Fi network management; monitoring water, electricity, and gas consumption; integrating surveillance cameras and access-control systems; as well as smart street-lighting and parking management systems. These solutions are supported by cloud computing services and advanced cybersecurity technologies, further accelerating the digitalization of operational processes and establishing a smart operating ecosystem aligned with international standards for the management and development of sustainable smart cities.

Commenting on the partnership, Eng. Mohamed Shebl, Chief Business Officer at Orange Egypt, said: “Our partnership with Wadi Degla Developments marks another milestone in Orange Egypt’s efforts to lead the development of smart infrastructure across Egypt’s real estate sector. We are providing a portfolio of smart-city solutions that deliver innovative tools capable of creating tangible value for residents and meeting their growing aspirations for a more advanced lifestyle."

He also added: “Backed by its global expertise, Orange Egypt is the preferred partner for building smarter and more efficient digital ecosystems for real estate developments. We remain committed to keeping pace with rapid technological advancements and delivering new generations of services and applications as part of a strategy aligned with the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030 and the Digital Egypt Strategy. This approach enhances the competitiveness of real estate developments both locally and regionally while supporting Egypt’s ambitious plans to promote real estate exports.”

For his part, Dr. Raymond Odhi, CEO of Wadi Degla Developments, stated: "Our partnership with Orange Egypt is an extension of a strategy that Wadi Degla has pursued since 2020, driven by our firm belief that technology is a fundamental pillar in shaping the future of urban development and enhancing the investment value of real estate projects, rather than merely serving as an entertainment feature. Today, technology has become a vital enabler of more efficient resource utilization and asset management."

He explained: “Estimates indicate that smart solutions can reduce energy consumption in buildings by between 30% and 50%. Studies also show that smart-building technologies can reduce maintenance costs by up to 20%, while properties with sustainable performance can achieve higher market-value growth of up to 20% in some markets. These figures underscore how investment in digital infrastructure is increasingly translating into tangible long-term economic returns.”

Finally, He concluded: “Against this backdrop, our investment in advanced technologies at NEO will maximize asset efficiency and reduce operating costs, helping preserve its investment value over the long term. This is the approach we apply across our entire portfolio of developments, in line with Wadi Degla’s commitment to building communities that meet the demands of the future and create lasting value for our customers, shareholders, and strategic partners.”
