Orange Egypt and Huawei Egypt boost their strategic partnership to provide customers with unmatched services & solutions with mass market 5G ready virtual Evolved Packet core (vEPC) deployment

Huawei Egypt in collaboration with Orange Egypt have successfully modernized & virtualized the EPC (Evolved Packet Core) & DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) moving the core network's traditionally run on dedicated hardware to software based elements operating on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) servers.

Orange Egypt is the first in Egypt & within all Orange affiliate to go virtual with business critical function (Packet Core) on a mass market use case (Entire network swap/modernization).

This new milestone is marking a strategically long term relationship which lasted for more than 13 years.

In order to provide its users with an unmatched experience, Orange Egypt has decided to use the latest NFV&Cloud technologies. Through this strategic partnership, Huawei’s vEPC solution enabled Orange Egypt to build an agile networks that quickly scale to match the performance demands of smart services, support faster service rollout, and dynamically allocate virtual resources while providing carrier-grade availability.

Virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) is a framework for virtualizing the functions required to converge data on 3G and Long-Term Evolution (LTE - 4G) networks. vEPC moves the core network's components that traditionally run on dedicated hardware to software that operates on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) servers.
