Orange Egypt Launches eKYC Services for Individuals and enterprise segments

For the First Time in Egypt, Businesses and enterprise customers Can Digitally Activate Mobile Lines After Verifying the Actual User’s Identity Through Facial Recognition solution

In a move that reinforces Orange Egypt’s leadership in enhancing the customer experience and expanding its digital services portfolio, the company has announced the successful launch of its new electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) solution and services, offering an integrated suite of digital identity verification and mobile-line full digital acquisition and management experience for both individuals and businesses.

The new eKYC service enables customers to complete mobile-line procedures entirely digitally, without the need to visit Orange store. The digital journey covers the purchase and activation of new mobile lines for individuals, the activation of new lines for business customers following verification of the actual user’s identity, as well as the ability to view mobile numbers registered under a customer’s name and request the deactivation of unwanted lines.

The new eKYC ecosystem reflects Orange Egypt’s commitment to comply with the regulatory developments in the telecommunications sector, while supporting the efforts of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and the Egyptian government to strengthen mobile-line governance, verify the identities of actual users, and expand digital services that combine convenience, efficiency, security, green based and customer data protection.

A key highlight of the launch is the digital activation of business mobile lines, making Orange Egypt the first in Egypt to enable businesses to complete this process electronically after verifying the identity of the actual user of each line. The verification process is conducted using the customer’s national ID card and facial recognition technology.

For individual customers, Orange’s eKYC service enables the purchase and activation of new mobile lines through a fully digital and immediate process. This significantly reduces the need for traditional in-store procedures and provides customers with a simpler journey, from requesting a new line to activating and using it.

The new eKYC services are complemented by the ability for customers to view all Orange mobile numbers registered under their national ID and submit an online request to deactivate any number they no longer wish to keep. These services are also supported by identity verification through the national ID card and facial recognition technology, giving customers greater control, transparency, and visibility over the mobile lines registered to them.
