Orange Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer visits Egypt as Part of the Official Delegation Accompanying the French President

Richard witness the signing of several protocols of cooperation with three Egyptian ministries

Highlighting the strong ties between Egypt and France built over more than 200 years; Stéphane Richard, CEO of Orange Group visited Egypt as part of the official delegation accompanying the French President, Emmanuel Macron. This three-day visit aimed to foster political and economic relations between Egypt and France.

Orange Group Chairman and CEO held several important meetings where he witnessed the signing of a number cooperation protocols with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. This cooperation aimed to enhance the presence of Orange in Upper Egypt, by establishing a new call center at the Technological Park in Assiut and provide various job opportunities to Upper Egypt community. The protocol also included the expansion of FabLab - Egypt workshops in Upper Egypt (supported by Orange), where Fab Lab works towards the transformation of innovations into real products and prototypes.

Another protocol of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Orange Egypt, concluding a comprehensive executive strategy to develop the payment and collection systems for the ministry and its affiliates. The cooperation also included the provision of special offers and services to medium and small enterprises that work with the Ministry enabling them to use advanced means of communication in their operations.

The Protocol also included joint efforts between the two parties enabling beneficiaries of small-enterprise loans, provided by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, to establish authorized outlets for Orange Egypt nationwide.

A cooperation protocol was also signed with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, listing Orange Egypt and the Ministry of Electricity as adamant partners to implement the sustainable and integrated energy strategy and enable the company to use renewable energy in its network sites nationwide.

Commenting on this visit, Eng. Yasser Shaker, CEO and Managing Director of Orange Egypt said that this visit reflects the extensive interest of Orange Group in the Egyptian market, which is considered the driving center for all its operations in Africa and the Middle East.

It is noteworthy that Orange Group, with a strong international presence in 168 countries, is the only operator who owns a bank "Orange Bank" and has considerable experience in the areas of financial inclusion and digital transformation. Orange is currently expanding further in the areas of e-health and is preparing additional plans for growth within these areas.
