Orange Egypt To Eliminate Breast Tumor Surgery Waiting Lists

Orange Egypt has announced its support for the presidential initiative '100 Healthy Days' campaign, which waslaunched under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in collaboration with "Cleopatra Hospital" Group and"Sherif Omar" Foundation for Oncology, to encourage private sector participation in the initiative to better serve thecommunity.

Orange Egypt's participation was announced in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health andPopulation, Mr. Hesham Mahran, Orange Egypt's Chief Enterprise line of business officer, Dr. Ahmed Ezz El-Din, CEO andManaging Director of Cleopatra Hospital Group, and Omar Sharif Omar, CEO of Sherif Omar Foundation, as well as anumber of top executives and officials from various sectors in the state.

Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly had launched the 100 Healthy Days campaign to target the 105 million peopleliving across the country. The 100 Healthy Days campaign aims to boost the overall health of Egyptian people byproviding them with free health-care services, including early detection and treatment of cancer. Using over 5,000primary care units nationwide, the campaign includes 500 medical convoys and 700 hospitals to offer check-up,treatment, testing, and screening services at the state's expense, while Six mobile clinics were also deployed toprovide "mammography" services.

On this occasion, Hesham Mahran, Orange Egypt's Chief Business Officer, stated "As an Egyptian telecom operator, weare committed to taking on a wide range of duties and responsibilities towards the society we serve by engaging invarious development areas such as health, education and the environment, as well as other areas primarily aimed atcommunity development and supporting the people in need."

"Orange Egypt is joining the presidential initiative for the second year in a row by supporting the "Weqaya" programto treat breast tumors, recognizing the importance of urgent intervention to end waiting lists for breast tumoroperations, as an essential issue to reduce recovery time and prevent possible complications after surgery," he added.

"Orange Egypt seeks to encourage privileged groups in society, particularly the private sector, to increase theircontribution in this regard, especially given the high burden of medical costs for this type of surgeries, as rapidsurgical intervention helps us to ensure that women get better results.", Mahran explained.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Ezz El-Din, CEO and Managing Director of Cleopatra Hospital Group, stated that this nationalinitiative, launched under the auspices of His Excellency President El-Sisi, aims to provide many health servicesrelated to various age groups within 100 days in order to improve the health of millions of Egyptians.

"Therefore, there is a need to act on a large scale and within the framework of integration and unification ofefforts among national public institutions, private sector organizations, civil society and development partners inEgypt. This initiative attempts to deliver an integrated set of services, comparable to social responsibility toEgyptians, with the goal of getting the initiative's services to all social groups, particularly those in need. As aresult, Egypt may live a better life and raise the standard of living for Egyptians, assuring a decent life for them",he added.

"We are committed to playing our role by participating in the "100 Healthy Days" campaign, one of the President's keyinitiatives as part of uniting all the efforts of public and private sectors to fight disease and reduce poverty,ensure a good life with sustainable development in all the governorates of Egypt, meet the health needs of the peopleand invest in development of human health Egypt", Ezz El-Din illustrated.

Ultimately, he stated that Cleopatra Hospital Group welcomes community participation in the initiative to develop andimprove Egyptians' health indicators, as well as state collaboration in effecting actual change, in order to devoteall work efforts to establishing and developing our beloved Egypt.
