In the Presence of ICT Minister, Assiut Governor, and Orange Senior Leaders, Orange Egypt Inaugurates a new Call Center for its’ Customers in Assiut Technology Park

  • Orange Egypt inaugurate its first call center in Upper Egypt in 6 months from signing the agreement with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) on the sidelines of French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Egypt in January 2019
  • The new center provides hundreds of job opportunities and supports governmental plans for Upper Egypt development

Orange Egypt, the leading provider of integrated telecommunications services, has inaugurated a new call center services in Assiut Technology Park as part of its investments and business expansion in Egypt, thus complementing the efforts to develop its services and get closer to customers.

The opening ceremony was attended by a high-level government including, H.E. Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat, Governor of Assuit Major General Gamal Nour Eldeen, Orange Egypt CEO Eng. Yasser Shaker, CEO of ITIDA Eng. Hala El Gohary , Silicon Whaha CEO Eng. Sameh El Mallah, in addition to Orange leaders , government senior officials and a large group of press and media specialized in ICT sector.

The opening of the new call center came within the framework of the agreement signed between Orange Egypt and ITIDA inked back in January 2019 where Orange vowed to expand its operations’ in upper Egypt . This came during the meeting held between Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat, and Chairman and CEO of Orange Group Stefane Richard. The meeting also coincided with the French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Egypt in january 2019. With the opening of its new call center, Orange has fulfilled its promise after 6 months only of signing the agreement.

The call center is expected to provide several job opportunities for qualified young people in Upper Egypt while opening new horizons that subsidizes to the technological boom in Egypt.

On the sidelines of the opening, Orange Egypt announced the participation of Orange Labs that will provide training courses to qualify youth and university graduates of Upper Egypt in the field of modern technologies through several workshops, to be held at Assiut Technology Park (Silicon Waha).

Orange lab is one of Orange R&D centers which mainly focuses on providing new services for the Middle East and Africa and keeping pace with changes in the marketplace as well as adapting to its latest systems. Orange Lab includes 150 researchers and software developers to achieve its goal to be the main ICT services provider in the region.

“We are delighted to inaugurate our first call center in Upper Egypt and we are proud of our highly qualified and professional cadres”, Eng. Yasser Shaker, CEO and Managing Director of Orange Egypt, commented on this occasion.

He asserted that Orange Group will continue to support Egyptian human resources and qualify them to use the latest technology means matching with the requirements of the labor market. Thus, the company will provide more local job opportunities for Upper Egypt citizens and fresh graduates.

Shaker pointed out to the importance of reinforcing companies’ establishment in Upper Egypt, especially ICT companies. He revealed that the technological zones’ projects in governorates primarily aim at developing the regions that have not received adequate attention.
