Eng. Mohamed Shebl: The future of healthcare lies in the seamless integration of technology, connectivity, and digital innovation

Orange Egypt has inked a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with eHealth, a specialized provider of healthcare technology and digital health solutions, to establish a comprehensive framework for cooperation in the digital healthcare sector. The agreement brings together the operational and technological expertise of both firms to explore, develop, manage, and operate a new generation of digital health platforms and services. The initiative supports the government’s efforts to accelerate the digital transformation of Egypt’s healthcare sector, improve the efficiency of the healthcare ecosystem, and enhance the quality of services and solutions delivered to healthcare providers and citizens alike.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of Africa Health ExCon, the leading African healthcare exhibition and conference, which commenced on Tuesday under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.

This endeavor reflects Orange Egypt’s ongoing commitment to supporting digital transformation across the country’s vital sectors. Building on its advanced capabilities in telecommunications, information technology, and integrated digital solutions, the company aims to contribute to the development of a more efficient and sustainable healthcare ecosystem aligned with Egypt Vision 2030 and the Digital Egypt strategy.

The agreement also underscores both parties’ commitment to advancing the future of digital healthcare in Egypt by leveraging their respective technological capabilities and operational expertise. Through this partnership, Orange Egypt and eHealth seek to develop more integrated, flexible, and future-ready healthcare solutions while enhancing interoperability and seamless connectivity among healthcare platforms and services, in support of the continued modernization of Egypt’s healthcare system.

Moreover, the MoU states that the two companies would work together to examine, develop, and build a variety of integrated service packages and new digital healthcare solutions. The agreement will use Orange Egypt's capabilities in telecommunications, smart infrastructure, digital channels, advanced technological solutions, and customer service, as well as eHealth's platforms and operational skills in digital healthcare. Together, they hope to provide more comprehensive services to healthcare institutions and professionals across Egypt.

The partnership will also explore opportunities for the development, operation, and management of digital services tailored to the healthcare sector. In addition, it will leverage Orange Egypt’s extensive market reach and distribution channels to serve a broader range of healthcare organizations, while identifying opportunities to establish strategic alliances with local and international partners to compete for promising digital health projects.

This milestone reflects Orange Egypt’s continued expansion in the digital healthcare sector. During 2026, the company launched several notable initiatives that strengthened its presence in this strategic field, including the signing of an MoU with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to support remote diagnosis and telemedicine services in rural, border, and underserved communities.

Orange Egypt also hosted, in collaboration with The American University in Cairo (AUC), the seventh edition of the Harvard Health Systems Innovation Lab Hackathon Egypt 2026, an event focused on leveraging artificial intelligence to advance healthcare systems. In addition, the company engaged in discussions with the Ministry of Health and Population to support the development of an integrated digital healthcare ecosystem and enhance the readiness of Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance system.

Commenting on the partnership, Eng. Mohamed Shebl, Chief Business Officer of Orange Egypt, said:

“This partnership builds on Orange Egypt’s vision to harness technology and innovation in support of sectors that have the greatest impact on citizens’ lives, foremost among them healthcare. Healthcare remains one of the most vital sectors where technology can drive direct and sustainable improvements. In this context, we continue to leverage Orange Egypt’s expertise as a fully integrated technology partner to develop digital solutions that enhance the efficiency of healthcare services and improve accessibility.”

He added: “This collaboration combines eHealth’s specialized expertise in digital healthcare with Orange Egypt’s advanced technological capabilities, enabling the development of integrated digital solutions that support healthcare providers and contribute to building a more efficient healthcare ecosystem. It also reflects our commitment to continuing our collaboration with leading national institutions to support the country’s digital transformation agenda and the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030.”
