Orange Egypt Renames Its Network to “3ayzeen Eltamna” in Support of the National Team Ahead of AFCON

Orange Egypt has announced the temporary renaming of its mobile network to “3ayzeen Eltamna”, a name that is now appearing directly on customers’ mobile phones across the country, coinciding with the kickoff of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to begin on December 21st. The move reflects the collective ambition of Egyptians to see the national team secure its eighth continental title.

The initiative comes as part of a nationwide campaign launched by Orange under the slogan “Football stars have changed, but the shirt still wants the eighth star.” Public engagement reached new levels as Orange subscribers noticed the network name change displayed on their devices, reinforcing a strong sense of unity between the brand and the Egyptian public in supporting the national team.

Celebrating the Golden Generation and the Continental Dream

The campaign brings together seven iconic figures from Egypt’s golden generation of football: Essam El-Hadary, Wael Gomaa, Ahmed Hossam “Mido”, Mohamed Barakat, Sayed Moawad, Hossam Ghaly, and Mohamed Zidan. Their participation highlights the link between past triumphs and present aspirations, inspiring fans as the national team begins its continental journey.

Exclusive Digital Experience and Valuable Rewards

Exclusively through the My Orange app, customers can participate in an interactive digital challenge centered on collecting stars from the golden generation. Participants have the chance to win a range of prizes, including Gold, PlayStations, signed national team jerseys, and other premium gifts, reflecting Orange’s commitment to delivering innovative digital experiences and tangible value to its customers.

Long-Standing Partnership with CAF

The campaign forms part of Orange’s long-standing partnership with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), which was recently renewed. Orange has served as CAF’s exclusive telecommunications partner since 2008, covering flagship tournaments led by the Africa Cup of Nations, in addition to women’s competitions. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to developing African football and promoting values of inclusion and equality across the continent.
