Orange Egypt has announced its participation in the launch of the largest humanitarian convoy in Egypt "Abwab Al-Kheir" for supporting one million families nationwide. The convoy was successfully launched under the patronage and honor of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in cooperation with Tahya Misr Fund, the Ministry of Social Solidarity and a number of civil society organizations.
The convoy moved in about 1,000 giant trucks to support one million families or up to 5 million eligible citizens nationwide.
Orange Egypt was keen to participate in this convoy due to the considerable number of people targeted for care in addition to the diversity of its development fields, including nutrition, health care, training, education, providing adequate housing, and economic development. These are all areas that Orange Egypt is seeking to support through its various Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives to serve Egyptians in different categories to help in contributing and changing their lives for the better.
This initiative was announced in a ceremony that organized by the Tahya Misr Fund in cooperation with the Social Solidarity Ministry celebrating the International Day of Charity and was held in the New Administrative Capital.
It is worth mentioning that “Abwab El-Kheir” convoy represents a great success in coordinating between the governmental and non-governmental sectors, civil society organizations and corporate social responsibility sectors to support the state’s efforts in social protection measures and improving the living conditions of the Egyptian citizens.
The convoy targets delivering thousands of tons of foodstuffs, medical equipment, nurseries, clothes, electrical appliances, furniture, laboratories, and auxiliary tools for several professions. Convoys have already begun to reach many centers and villages nationwide.
