Orange Egypt encourages makers community with “Maker to Market Challenge”
Orange Egypt partnered with FabLab Egypt to launch a new challenge "Maker to Market Challenge" for the makers community in Egypt to encourage hardware startups to innovate and turn their prototypes into final products.
About the challenge
Maker to Market challenge is a competition-based program to introduce the young Egyptian community to the digital fabrication and design for manufacturing concepts. It's offering them the chance to get more familiar with these techniques to turn their ideas into potential products.

The program will provide different kinds of support including mentoring, crash courses, access to prototyping facilities and financial support.
After development phase, 30 ideas will be selected from 150 ideas, the selected ideas will go through intensive mentoring and development process in different aspects such as (Product design, user experience, business fundamentals, etc.) The development achieved in the hackathon will shorten the list into 10 ideas that will go to the final pitch
Orange role
The final competitors will have to pitch in front of our judges, where Orange will be seed-funding 3 winners with EGP25,000 to give them the push needed to produce this solution. All the participants will register through challenge portal gate and the 5 mini FabLabs in the regions (Zagazig - Ismailia - Mansoura - Assiut - Aswan) powered by Orange in addition to the HQ of FabLab Egypt in Cairo.
Who is illegible to participate?
Anyone from any educational background All governorates are allowed to enter the challenge by providing access to Fab Lab Egypt branches and our community partners
