Magdy Gabra has been appointed as the Chief Enterprise Line of Business Officer since February 2017. After being the Chief Customer Service Officer since October 2010, prior to that date he assumed the role of VP Enterprise Market in 2009 and held the position of Customer Service since 2003.
Magdy Gabra has been appointed as Chief Commercial officer for the business market effective 15 Feb 2017 with the objective of integrating mobile and Fixed teams in one business unit and producing a comprehensive product portfolio for the business segment that should help boost the corporate and SME/SOHO Revenue.
Prior to the above date Gabra was holding the position of Chief Customer Service Officer during which the orange customer service and earlier Mobinil was the first Telecom operator in Egypt and in the Group to acquire the COPC certification for 5 consecutive years since 2010.
During this period Orange customer service achieved the highest Service levels and lowest BD ratio and the most optimized operating cost.
Gabra joined Orange Egypt on January 1st, 2002 as National Sales Senior Manager in charge of all Orange Egypt Sales and Customer Service centers. During this period Gabra was able to reorganize the National Sales Channel where outstanding results in the areas of sales, customer satisfaction, internal control and standardization were achieved.
On May 2003 Gabra moved to the position of Director Customer service. Throughout the period May 2003 to March 2009, the customer base grew from 3 million to over 20 million subscribers while the highest levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency were achieved and maintained.
Prior to joining Orange Egypt, Gabra spent his entire career spanning 23 years holding different commercial & general management positions in the airline industry. In May of 1978, Gabra joined Trans World Airlines Inc. [TWA] in the Sales & Customer Service Department and worked his way up in the organization to hold various managerial positions in the Middle East and Europe where he was responsible for all regional sales, marketing, government and legal affairs and general management functions.
During his career with TWA the following were few of his achievements; successfully leading all integration functions between TWA and American Airlines (AA) , The successful finalization and implementation of the bilateral traffic right agreements between Egypt , US and Saudi Arabia that led to the expansion of the Middle East markets, the conclusion of code share agreements with other regional carriers, the successful leadership to the sales and marketing activities for the whole International division including all European and Middle Eastern markets during 1993, and playing a major role in the route pricing & yield improvements of the Trans Atlantic flights to/from the Middle East.
Gabra holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics from the Faculty of Science at Ain-Shams University.
