Orange Egypt for Telecommunications

Ashraf Halim was appointed as Deputy to the CEO effective from the 1st of July, 2017. After being the Chief Commercial Officer of Orange Egypt since the 1st of May, 2011, to oversee the company’s marketing, communication and sales operations. Halim returned to Orange Egypt with an accumulated 23 years of commercial and management experience, 20 of which were in telecommunications.

Halim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Cairo University. He began his career in the field of Civil Engineering. Then, in 1991, he shifted to telecommunications with AT&T, followed by Lucent Technologies in 1995. Holding several positions in Egypt and the UK, Halim was in charge of GSM business development for Lucent in the Middle East and Africa.

Halim first joined Orange Egypt in 2001 as Senior Program Manager handling company-wide program management standards and methodology, as well as strategic corporate programs. He then held the position of Senior Manager Revenue and CRM Analysis, where he oversaw the areas of market strategy, products and services pricing, commercial budget, research and competitive intelligence. Halim then joined Orascom Telecom Holding in 2007 as Senior Director of Strategic Marketing in the Commercial department, sharing his expertise across Orascom Telecom Operations worldwide. Soon after, he was promoted to Chief Commercial Officer and member of Orascom Telecom Operation Committee.
