Wassila Zitoune was appointed as independent board member of Orange
Egypt in January 2024.
Wassila has 25 years+ international experience in executive roles in France, Middle
East, and Africa.
She has a comprehensive track record in managing large organizations in marketing,
Sales, communication and operations domains, in multi-cultural environments and high transformations
stakes. She has the holistic practice of the three business models of the industry: B2C, B2B and
Wholesale.
In September 2022, Wassila was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Orange Business, she
heads a multi-cultural team of 9,600 staff, in 56 countries, across the globe, responsible for
designing, building and operating a wide variety of business solutions in a seamless way, through a 24x7
model covering all geographies.
Since the outset, Wassila has always placed value creation at the heart of her actions,
making customer satisfaction her priority whilst leading the transformation journey for the Operations
teams.
Prior to this role, Wassila was the Chief Marketing and Digital Officer at Orange
Business Services, and EVP of Wholesale Line of Business for Orange Group, leading Orange global
international roaming agreements between Orange Group and the worldwide operators, in a highly complex
and fast moving environment facing important regulatory stakes.
From 2011 until 2014, she was Chief Marketing & Communication Officer of Meditel (Orange
Morocco) where she successfully led the company brand revamp, making a disruptive shift in the Mobile
voice and data marketing strategy, bringing significant results on both financial performance and market
share.
Prior to this, she was Chief Commercial Officer of Orange Jordan, where she conducted
several strategic programs, such as broadband and 3G launch, the company rebranding to Orange, leading a
900-person business unit. She has been actively involved in corporate social responsibility projects
throughout her international experience, mainly in education, rural development and gender equity.
Furthermore, Wassila has an extensive track record in France where she began her career
back in France Telecom. She stepped quickly into a leading role in GSM commercial launch in France,
responsible for devices strategy, distribution master plan and go to market operations. She developed
her leadership and innovation skills through various other positions in Marketing, Sales, project
management and digital, where she was responsible for Orange portal and e-commerce launch in a
challenging technical environment.

Wassila holds a master’s degree in marketing from HEC Paris, and a civil engineering
