Orange Egypt Sponsors Enactus National Competition 2021 with the Participation of 35 Egyptian Universities

Orange Egypt sponsors Enactus for the 15th year in a row which comes in line with its leading role and strategy in supporting CSR projects aiming to foster the innovation and entrepreneurship of youth to enable them for a better future and encourage them create beneficial developmental projects that support the community.

Moreover, Orange insisted on sponsoring the competition despite the exceptional circumstances that the country and the world are going through due to the Coronavirus pandemic, aiming to support youth, improve their morale and engage them to be part of a sustainable long-term recovery.

This year, 35 universities competed by presenting projects that help in developing our community and due to COVID-19 outbreak the first round of the event took place virtually on 14 July 2021 and the final round took place at intercontinental city stars on 27th of July 2021.

At the end of the competition, October 6th university Team won the first place with their project that use the Nile rose to produce fish feed out of plant petals, producing high quality cellulose out of Nile rose and producing an organic fertilizer from Nile Rose wastes. Helwan BIS university team came in the second place for their extracting silica, cellulose and lignin from the rice straw, also they reduced waste from preventing rice straw burning. Cairo university ended up in the third place with their project aiming to have a value chain that caters infants’ needs, offering locally produced, highly nutritious and organic baby puree.

With these results, October 6th university team, who ranked first, will be representing Egypt in the World Cup.
