Orange Egypt has announced its sponsorship to one of the biggest annual events for makers in Egypt, “Maker Faire Cairo 2020”, in collaboration with Fab Lab Egypt and the American Center in Cairo. The event took place at the Smart Village where young talents from all over Egypt compete to attract investments for their emerging projects.

“Maker Faire Cairo 2020” brought together individuals and companies from various areas of digital transformation where they showcased their projects and ideas and communicated them with their peers. This came during the training and educational workshops and lectures which were sponsored by Orange Egypt in cooperation with Fab Lab, in the presence of prominent figures in all fields; from professors to doctors and heads of influential companies.

Supporting the success of Orange's Business Pro integrated solutions and its distinctive role in developing emerging startups, Orange offered Social Media Pro service to corporate clients at Maker Faire to assist micro-enterprises and entrepreneurs in creating and managing their company’s page on Facebook. In addition, Orange presented a special offer to the participants, by allowing them to send a post of their choice to 1000 customers from their target audience for free through their emerging company web page. Orange also provided support and advice in terms of handling corporate pages on social media platforms to achieve better outcomes.

On this occasion, Hala Abdel Wadood, Head of Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Orange Egypt said “We always strive to disseminate digital transformation concept among youth as it comes in line with Orange’s strategy and its Corporate Social Responsibility role in supporting entrepreneurs in the field of digital manufacturing throughout the Republic."

“We are honored to participate in various initiatives to support youth and their innovation to transform their ideas into real projects where they can strongly compete in the local market in the future,” Abdel Wadood added.
